According to a recent interview with Martina Dwamena Asantewaa, a Ghanaian TikTok star who revealed how she started her profession as a teacher earning only 80 cedis per month,
Martina revealed in an interview that she had to stay at home for three years after graduating from high school due to financial difficulties, and that teaching was one of the jobs she took on. According to her, the first school where she worked paid her GH80 a month.
However, as time went on, she received an offer from a new school that nearly doubled her prior pay to GH150.
She was able to apply to nursing school after saving up money and receiving assistance from her ex-boyfriend and other kindhearted individuals. She was accepted and is now a trained nurse.
