Two people have been arrested in connection with the killing and secret burial of a lady in Mankessim, Central Region, the Tufohen of Ekumfi Akwakrom and a self-styled preacher.
The chief, Nana Oye, and the pastor are currently being held by police. The body of a woman in her twenties was excavated Tuesday (September 20, 2022) in an unfinished building in Esikafoambatem in Edumadze, a Mankessim suburb.
Georgina-Asor-Botchwey, her name, was reported missing last Wednesday. This happened when she traveled from Yeji to Cape Coast to attend an admission interview at a nursing school in Cape Coast. It was the pastor who allegedly led authorities to her grave after being arrested in connection with the case.
Exhumation
The body was discovered in an unfinished structure by police. The deceased's remains was later deposited to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for autopsy. Alex Appiah, the assemblyman for the area, stated that he had received information that police were in his neighborhood to exhume a body from an unfinished structure. "I can affirm that the cops exhumed a lady's body from my region yesterday," he said. According to preliminary information acquired by Graphic Online, the pastor sent the dead, who had come for a visit to a drinking establishment operated by Nana Oye, better known as Nana Crack, to buy her a drink.
