When Sarkodie was on a radio tour to promote his 'Mary' album in September 2015, Kwasi Aboagye of Peace FM refused to give him an audience. The matter garnered attention once it became a topic of discussion, with the presenter expressing his reasoning for his actions.
Sarkodie went on a radio tour this week to promote the release of his album "Mary."
According to information obtained by Zionfelix.com, Sarkodie personally called majority of the radio stations seeking airtime to discuss his album signing event at Accra's West Hills Mall. Sarkodie's voice was not heard on Peace FM entertainment review, one of the country's most listened to entertainment programmers, after touring numerous radio stations in the nation's capital. Kwasi Aboagye, the show's host, has disclosed why he refused the rapper's request for airtime on the show. According to Kwasi Aboagye, there is no need to give him airtime to promote his event if he (Sarkodie) does not open his gates when called for a radio interview.
"I'm not making Sarkodie come out to speak. Even Sammy Forson, who we all know speaks for him, will not remark on the subject. So, if you want notoriety, you jump from one radio station to another and expect us to hold you up? I'm not going to open my doors for him. You try to grab something from them and they don't mind, but you need exposure today because you're releasing an album, so we should let you in. When you close your doors to the media but require assistance, that is not how it is intended to be." He stated, based on his brief experience as a morning show host on Neat FM: "Even if he doesn't want to talk to you, he finds a lovely way to tell you." I just witnessed something similar from the NPP's general secretary, Kwabena Agyapong. When I called him, he replied, "Oh Kwasi, for this matter, I don't want to talk about it because of how it has reached."
