University of Education, Winneba will in a few weeks become the second University in Ghana to have a shopping mall for both students and the entire university community.
In addition to elucidating the University community, students of UEW from January 2023 will have the privilege to shop from the University’s mall.
Speaking to the construction officer, the mall will have multi-purposes in serving the University, and it shall be completed and handed over to the University by the middle of January 2023.
The mall will not have only shops or stores for commodities but will have six(6) banks that will provide financial packages to the university community.
It will be the first of its kind for any university in the country. The mall even though yet to be completed has two restaurants spaces and two kitchens, a large indoor space for refreshments, washrooms for convenience, offices, and double and single stores.
Per the schedule of the contractor(Spark Construction), the project should have been handed over to the university two weeks ago but an unforeseen circumstances pushed the date of completion and handing over to the first month of 2023.
The facility is well-factored with every logistics required to make it a world-class mall. Elevators to enhance movement are made available in the mall.
Construction is still ongoing and we are looking forward to a perfect completion on the said date and time.
