According to research, it can be risky to leave your phone nearby when you're sleeping. What should the distance be?

A smart strategy to ensure you never miss a call, text, or email is to sleep next to your phone. But, given the risk it presents, you might wish to keep it out of your sight.
To reduce exposure to radiofrequency energy, keep your phone at least three feet away from your bed.
Turn on airplane mode on your phone to stop it from making or receiving calls and texts if you need to use it as an alarm.
Carry your phone in a backpack or handbag during the day rather than in your pocket. You are shielded from higher radiation levels as a result.
Why you shouldn't sleep with your phone under your pillow?
When cell phones communicate with network towers, they release radiofrequency energy, which is a type of radiation. Despite the radiation's purported safety, regular phone use adjacent to the head can result in headaches and problems falling asleep. When the phone is close to your head as opposed to a few feet away, exposure is significantly greater. It still emits a tiny quantity of radiation even when it is just sitting there, not in use yet linked to a network.
It's possible to roll over in the middle of the night if you sleep with your phone nearby. Lack of airflow causes the device to quickly heat up and may harm the battery. Putting your phone under your pillow at night runs the risk of starting a fire.
Blue light from cell phones deceives your brain into believing it is daytime. A hormone that controls sleep cycles, melatonin, is released by the brain as you get ready for bed. These levels are impacted by blue light, which disrupts your sleep cycle. Headaches, blurry vision, and sleepless nights may result from this.
