A commercial truck, known locally as a 'trotro,' is said to have caught fire on the Liberation Road between Shangri-La and the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange. A viral video spotted by GhanaWeb showed the 'trotro' being enveloped by fire and swiftly combusting. The burning gases had filled the entire airspace. It is unclear whether any passengers were still inside the vehicle when it took fire, although a guy can be seen attempting to extract something from it. A number of people can also be seen watching as the truck burns. Brah Kofi, a social media user who published the footage on Instagram, recommended road users to exercise caution as they approach that portion of the Liberation Road.
There were no security officers present at the time 'trotro' was burning, and neither the Ghana Police Service nor the Ghana National Fire Service have issued any statements on the incident.
