On the first day of its nationwide revenue mobilization exercise, which began on Monday, March 20, 2023, the Volta Regional branch of the Electricity Company of Ghana disconnected some customers.Customers such as Volta Serene, Abutia Stone Quarry, UHAS, and HTU who owed electricity bills were visited by officials from the company during the exercise, which took place in all eleven districts supervised by the regional branch of the company in the Volta and Oti Regions.The company disconnected KFC due to GH68,000 in debt, Ho Airport due to GH63,000 in debt, GRA Office due to GH55,000 in debt, CEPS training academy due to GH80,000 in debt, and Ho Technical University due to GH402,000 in debt.Be that as it may, Ho specialized college paid GH¢200,000 after crunch chats with the ECG and has been told to settle the overdue debts by end of Walk 2023.Some businesses also contributed to the exercise, such as the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), which contributed GH1 million out of GH1.4 million.The business instructed the university to pay the remaining GH400,000 by the following week.
