The police in Kirinyaga County, Kenya, have taken into custody a middle-aged man from Wanguru police station in Mwea East for allegedly defiling his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.Citizen Digital claims that the minor was reportedly abandoned by her mother following a disagreement with her husband. After hearing the girl's loud scream, it was learned that people in Kiumbu village came to her aid, but the man managed to get away.However, the man was eventually captured by the furious villagers, who took him to the Kimbimbi dispensary and locked him up before calling the police. Mwea East OCPD James Mutua confirmed the incident, stating that the public provided the police with information. The child's medical records revealed that she had been sexually assaulted, and she is currently receiving treatment at Kimbimbi Sub-County Hospital.In related news, an Ikeja Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence Court has remanded Nigerian clergyman Bishop Daniel Oluwafeyiropo in prison for allegedly raping two members of his church.
In the court hearing on Monday, April 17, Justice Ramon Oshodi remanded the clergyman and founder of I Reign Christian Ministry in the Kirikiri Correctional Facility until his bail conditions are met. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Bishop Feyi committed the crime in June 2020 in the Ikota Villa Estate in the Lekki area of Lagos state. However, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.The defendant was granted N20 million bail with two equal-sized sureties by Mr. Oshodi. He said that one of the sureties had to own a building in Lagos State that was worth enough to pay for the bail.The chief registrar of Lagos State must receive the landed property's original document.He stated, "The sureties must reside within the jurisdiction of the court and have paid their taxes to the Lagos State for three years."In addition, the judge ordered an expedited hearing of the case and the defendant to hand over his international passport to the chief registrar of the court. The trial was then scheduled for May 9th.
