Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia visited areas of the Volta Region that have experienced floods on Wednesday, October 18. The leakage of the Akosombo and Kong dams has caused a large number of the population of around eight districts along the Lower Volta basin to be displaced. Dr. Bawumia extended his deep sympathies to the disaster victims while on the tour, which forced the evacuation of many homes in the Volta Region as well as other areas of the Eastern and Greater Accra Regions.
