Peter Boamah Otokunor is an Agricultural Economist, Economic Policy Expert, Researcher, and astute politician who has served in numerous capacities in Ghanaian politics. He is a PhD candidate in Agricultural Economics at the University of Ghana, and he also has a PhD in Finance from SMC University, a Master of Arts degree in Economic Policy Management, and a Bsc. degree in Agriculture from the University of Ghana - Legon. Rural Development, Economic Policy Research, Scientific and Socio-political Research, Communications, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Policy Planning, Youth Development, and Agriculture are among his areas of expertise. He has over 18 years of professional experience in research, teaching, management, communications, publishing, and youth development. He is now both the NDC's Deputy Director of Research and the Registrar of the Ghana Institute of Social Democracy (GISD). Prior to becoming the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority of Ghana, he served as a Senior Researcher in the Communications Directorate (Office of the President). He is the Ghana Institute of Social Democracy's first Registrar (the NDC Party School) He has worked in a variety of capacities and served on a number of National Democratic Congress committees, including the 2016 NDC Manifesto Committee, the 2016 Campaign Sub-Committee on Research and Strategy, the Economics Committee, the Party School Working Committee, the Governing Council of GISD, and other sub-committees. According to the deputy NDC scribe, he purchased kenkey using his Ghana card on his way to the New Patriotic Party's National Delegates Conference on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium. He reminded the NPP faithful that the kenkey is so expensive that it costs GHC5.00 while delivering a brotherly message on behalf of the NDC at the Conference.

"I chose to get a kenkey ball because we were coming." This kenkey ball costs 5 cedis. The kenkey's leaves alone are three cedis more expensive than the kenkey itself, and guess what? "Ladies and gentlemen, I purchased the kenkey with my Ghana card," he laughed. Mr. Otokunor was likely referring to the Vice President's remark of his preference for the Ghana card over road interchanges in the country's development efforts. The national identity card, popularly known as the Ghana Card, is more helpful, according to the Chairman of the Economic Management Team, than the multiple interchanges built around the country.
"If you give me 1,000 interchanges and a Ghana Card, I'll choose the Ghana Card because it has a greater impact," he stated on Thursday. Following this comment, the Vice President faced harsh criticism.
According to his detractors, the comment implies that the Ghana card may be used for anything. As a result, Mr. Otokunor's gesture.
Mr. Otokunor also said that the NPP government has been indifferent to Ghanaians' hardship as a result of the country's current economic woes. He claimed that the NPP had "only provided bad, inept leadership that has resulted in the current economic catastrophe and suffering for all Ghanaians."
Despite the fact that the NPP has only given Ghanaians misery, he believes it is the luckiest political party in the country to have acquired an unjustified degree of public support.
