Prophet Nicholas Osei, Founder and Leader of Heaven's Gate Ministries, also known as Kumchacha, has lamented the impact of economic hardship on Ghanaians and is calling for the sale of the country to its old colonial overlords.

In an interview with GhanaWeb on Onua FM, the man of God claimed that Ghanaians are suffering as a result of the NPP-led government's bad leadership. He went on to remark that it would be preferable, in his opinion, for the country to be managed by colonial masters rather than having black people mismanage the country.

"Masa things are hard, and how the system has become, if feasible, let's sell the country and share the profits. We've gained our independence. If the whites had still ruled us, I'm sure we'd have progressed by now.

"It's heartbreaking to look at South Africa and how whites have developed their country. How can a country that achieved independence more than 60 years ago continue to borrow? Look around: we have cocoa, oil, lumber, gold, diamonds, and everything else, but we're still struggling. "What country is this?" he raged. Meanwhile, Ghana's finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, apologized to Ghanaians on November 18, 2022, when he stood before the Parliamentary ad hoc Committee considering the Motion of Censure against him. He agreed that the Ghanaian economy is in trouble and that the people are suffering. He stated that he recognizes and feels the devastating impact of the issues and that he will continue to work hard to fix them in order to assist alleviate the folks' hardships.

"Today, I accept that our economy is struggling and that the people of Ghana are suffering.

"As the person, President Akufo-Addo has put in charge of the economy, I feel the agony personally, professionally, and in my soul. I see and feel the devastation caused by rising commodity and service costs on the lives and livelihoods of ordinary Ghanaians "He informed the Committee. He also stated that he has taken note of the country's firms' struggles to stay in business. "I understand the pressures of owning a business. But it is the resilience and perseverance of the Ghanaian people that motivates me and my colleagues in government to press on every morning "According to Ofori-Atta. "It is what gives me the strength to press on to find solutions and alleviation for Ghanaians to the multiplicity of difficulties that our country and the rest of the world are facing, particularly since March 2020," the minister stated.
