A Ghanaian living in the United States of America was stabbed in Winneba, Effutu Municipality, Central Region. Charles Kwesi Amissah, who lived and worked in the United States before retiring, almost averted death on Friday, January 20, 2023, when he was attacked by two unknown assailants. The victim is critically ill and is being treated at the Winneba Special and Trauma Hospital. According to information acquired by Kasapa News' Yaw Boagyan, two young guys approached his compound in Low-cost, a suburb of Winneba, and one pointed a gun at him before realizing it was a toy gun. When he demanded his car key, he took the risk of fighting him, but the other thief joined the attack and stabbed him with a knife, rendering him useless. He tried to stop them from driving away in his V6 Toyota automobile by stepping behind it, but the robbers reversed quickly, knocking him down under the car. The criminals, however, were unable to drive away due to a pile of bricks on the compound, forcing them to flee the car as he yelled for aid, Neighbors heard his screams and raced to his aid, transporting him to the hospital. The incident has been reported to the Winneba Police Department for further investigation.
