The GES Computerized School Placement For 2022 Is Now Out.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has stated that it is dedicated to placing 2022 JHS graduates in Senior High Schools before the February 20 reopening date. According to the new academic calendar for SHS one pupils, freshmen are slated to arrive on February 20, which is 7 days away. Parents have expressed concern that their wards are still not providing placements despite the fact that the reopening date is only a week away. The GES's Computerized School Selection and Placement System aims to place eligible BECE graduates in second-cycle universities. Cassandra Twum-Ampofo, the PRO for the Ghana Education Service, responded to the worries voiced by asking stakeholders, particularly parents, to keep calm as measures are underway to reveal the school placements shortly.

"We are preparing so hard to assure the release of the placements and just last weekend, we conducted a training for our call centre agents so that they can attend to difficulties having to do with parents with challenges.

“We continue to caution parents and guardians not to pay money to anyone to have their children placed in any school.” She also admonished parents and guardians alike “not to pay money to anyone to have your ward’s school changed, we have good teachers in our schools.”

According to the report, 538,399 candidates qualified to be put in various Senior High Schools out of 547,329 enrolled pupils who sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE). 372,780 students (69.24% of the total) were automatically put in the schools of their choice. The rests of the numbers, 165,601 representing 30.67% could not be placed in any school and so will have to undertake the "self-placement". The GES Director-General described the steps that parents and applicants would take to find out which school they have been assigned to.

For pupils who were automatically placed;

STEPS:

1. Get the placement PIN code from any authorized vendor

2. Login http://www.cssps.gov.gh/

3. Enter the 10-digit number and add 22 to it

4. Enter the PIN Code

5. Click and submit

6. Print the form and visit your school for the admission process.
