Six people who are being held in connection with the slaying of trooper Imoro Sherrif have had their requests for bail turned down by the Ashaiman Circuit court, presided over by Simon Gaga, for the second time. On Monday, March 27, 2023, the court cited Section 96(5) of the Criminal Procedure Act, 1960 (Act 30), which states that if the court is convinced that the accused may not appear for trial or may interfere with witnesses, it may refuse to grant bail. Although all six suspects were present in court, the prime suspects, Samuel Tetteh and Abubakar Sadick had no legal representation.
