Former Asante Kotoko striker Eric Bekoe has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to hire former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan as a striker's coach to help struggling senior national team attackers.

Since Gyan's departure from the team in 2019, the Black Stars have struggled to find a replacement, with several players failing to fill his position.Bekoe believes that even though Gyan is no longer an active player, his experience can help the team solve its goal-scoring problems."Goal scoring is being learned, and football is now scientific and cannot be compared to previous years," he said in an Angel TV interview."It seems prudent to me to hire a striker's coach, such as Asamoah Gyan, our all-time leading scorer. He's done it before and can assist us in solving our goal-scoring issues."With 51 goals in 109 appearances, Asamoah Gyan is Ghana's all-time leading scorer. He also holds several other goal-scoring records, including Africa's top scorer at the World Cup. He most recently represented Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
