The former Ghana Football Association vice president urged his countrymen to continue supporting Kudus, even if he fails, in order for him to reach his full potential in the coming years.
Afriyie stated in an interview with 3Sports, "After seeing the likes of Abedi Pele [Ayew], Michael Essien, Asamoah Gyan, and Sulley Muntari, I believe it has come to Mohammed Kudus' turn. He's off to a great start and is performing admirably. He requires our prayers and assistance."Kudus, according to Afriyie, is on track to follow in the footsteps of other Ghanaian football greats "He will emerge from what he is doing in the same way that his predecessors have. I have no doubt that he will deliver and make Ghana proud, raising the Ghanaian flag very high."
Kudus, who is currently playing for Ajax, is having his best season yet this season, with 20 goals in all competitions. He has been included in the Ghana squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
