The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has declared that, as of Monday, March 20, 2023, all of its offices will be closing.

A month-long revenue mobilization operation that will end on Thursday, April 20, 2023, was the purpose of the temporary closure, the electricity provider stated in a public notification. The ECG will concentrate on all debtors during this exercise, including state-owned businesses. Special teams will watch over and prosecute any debtors who try to obstruct the exercise or engage in unauthorized self-reconnections after being disconnected.

To ensure complete management and employee participation, all offices, including the corporate, regional, and district offices—with the exception of customer service centers—will be impacted. To prevent disconnections and associated reconnection fees, the ECG advises its clients to pay their bills on time.Customers who fail to pay their unpaid invoices, even after receiving a final demand notice, will be subject to legal action, the business said.

Customers were also urged by the ECG to pay up any debts owed to the business as soon as possible because doing so would result in legal action.
