The University of Winneba (UEW) uses a well-organized grading system to help them provide grades to students based on their greatest academic performance. Your class of graduation will be determined by your grades in the courses you took during your time at the institution. Third Class is the lowest grade in the tertiary system of grading, whereas First Class is the highest. The grading system uses the words Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
The final summation of the grade point average (GPA) over the academic years is called the cumulative grade point average (CGPA)

CLASS DESIGNATION
A CGPA of;
(a) 3.5 – 4.0 is marked as First Class.
(b) 3.0 – 3.49 is marked as Second Class.
(c) 2.5 – 2.99
is marked as Second Class Lower.
(d) 2.0 – 2.49
is marked as Third Class.
In addition to the “completed” work, they have a system known as
non-completion of course work. It is used to mark or denote non-completed
academic work.
