Moses Olapade, a 56-year-old professional boxer, was arrested in Ondo State for reportedly pounding his wife, Tinuke, into a coma after she refused to give him the television remote. The event occurred at their home, No. 9, Odama Street in Akure's Oke-Aro Community, according to sources. According to sources, on the fateful day, Olopade, a truck driver from the country's north, returned home from a trip and wanted to watch a television show. He allegedly demanded the TV remote from his 44-year-old wife, but she refused.

Olopade hit his wife until she fainted and got unconscious out of rage. It needed the intervention of neighbors to save the wife from her husband as their children fled out screaming for help. When the neighbors arrived at the house to assist the woman, they found her unconscious on the floor and transported her to the local hospital. The incident was reported to community leaders, who alerted the police, who arrested the retired boxer.
