For allegedly committing various election-related offenses and causing a disturbance during the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s presidential and parliamentary primaries held last Saturday, the police arrested eight persons around the nation. The suspects include Yaro Burdove, Imoro Ibrahim, Arkoli Mensah, Prince Lomotey, Hamidu Dramani, and Bejando Emmanuel. Harrison Martey is also a suspect. According to the police, they were detained at each of their four voting locations. The Greater Accra Region's Ningo Prampram Constituency had elections, and Burdove was detained by the police for photographing his ballot in the voting booth. He is also charged with attempting to photograph other voters' ballots.
Harrison Martey and Imoro Ibrahim were also detained for fighting in violation of the law at a polling place in the same electoral district. Arkoli Mensah and Nyarko Richard, the suspects, were detained for obstructing the voting process at the New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern Region by fighting illegally at a polling place. Suspect Prince Lomotey was detained at the voting location in the Mfantseman Constituency in the Central Region for impersonating. Suspects Hamidu Dramani and Bejando Emmanuel were allegedly arrested for inciting violence at a voting location in the Atebubu-Amantin Constituency of the Bono East Region, according to the police.
While three of the suspects are being held in custody aiding with the investigation, five of the suspects are currently out on police inquiry bail.
